Solid picks this week in what should be another fascinating watch in Dubai! Enjoy!

Some of the big boys have come over to play this week with Dustin Johnson making his 1st start of 2022, Current US Open Champion Jon Rahm returns to his now beloved course less than a year after his dramatic win at last years US Open Torrey Pines South could he play a factor? In this special episode we had the honour of being joined by the 'Fairytale story' of 2021 Richard Bland. In the episode Blandy gives us all an update on his current situation regarding knee injury after having knee surgery at the end of the season, we talk about DP World Tour taking over from European Tour and what that means from a Tour players point of view. Blandy assesses his early years on tour between 1996-2000 after turning pro in 96 which would be catalyst for a very successful year in 2001 where would have 4 top 10 finishes on Challenge Tour including a 5 shot victory at 2001 Challenge Tour Grand Final in Bordeaux which would secure full playing rights on European Tour in 2002. In 2002 Richard would finish T2nd and miss out in a playoff Vs Soren Hansen & Darren Fichardt at Irish Open at Fota Island. At this time Tim Barter would come in as coach and work on a few things with inevitable success to come. After losing European Tour card in 2018 Bland at the age of 46 would go back to 2019 Challenge Tour Q School win his playing rights and finish the season with a resurgence in form with 4 2nd placed finishes, a 3rd and a 4th in that season. Just before the strange year which was 2020 at the end of the year he would finish T2nd in South Africa behind Bezuidenhout at Leopard Creek which would be the start of the best season of his career to come which would include the dramatic & emotional victory at the Betfred British Masters at The Belfry where Richard beat Guido Migliozzi in a playoff to win at the 478th time of asking on European Tour in so becoming the oldest first time Euro Tour winner at aged 48. We very much enjoyed speaking with Richard and was a privilege to have him on to discuss the emotional victory at The Belfry. Enjoy everyone!

In this special episode of Chasing Pars Podcast Craig & Jamie are joined by current European Tour (now DP World Tour) Professional player Wil Besseling. We firstly like to thank Wil for coming on the podcast after his 2 weeks trip to South Africa got cancelled due to the newly Red Zoned South African travel restrictions we are extremely grateful. In probably one of the most open & honest player interviews we have done so far Wil describes his career in the game in his own words from winning Dutch Amateur Match Play Championship as a 15 year old in 2001 to competing in European Amateur Team Championship in 2003 & 2005 as well as being a part of the 2004 & 2006 Eisenhower Trophy sides representing The Netherlands along with Joost Luiten & Tim Sluiter where Wil would go on to finish 3rd in the Individual element in 2004 & help The Netherlands win the 2006 Eisenhower Trophy one of the most prestigious trophies in Amateur Golf. In 2007 in only his 2nd event as as a Professional Golfer Wil would go on to win on EDP Tour (Developmental) in Spain. Wil gives his assessment to his great breakout year on Challenge Tour in 2008 qualifying late for Colombia Masters to eventually winning the tournament by 7 shots, which to this date remains his biggest win of his career so far. We also get a mightily honest take from Wil about losing his early Coach/Mentor who for many years he struggled to replace and struggled for a few years as a result. In 2012 we get a mini resurgence with better form picking up and we get a heart warming story into the rise and at times hard to listen to injury decline of close friend Kristoffer Broberg. Fast forward to 2020 in the new strange world brought on by COVID-19 this now sees Besseling get more starts on the European Tour and as a result has a really good campaign which gave him full playing rights into season 2021 and beyond. This is one of an insight into the extreme highs & the extreme lows into the life of Professional Golfer. Wil that was a pleasure to interview you! Myself & Jamie wish you all the best luck in the world with Season 2021-22 and beyond! Please give us a listen and a follow @ChasingPars_Pod on Twitter & @chasingparspodcast on Instagram. Thank you & enjoy everyone!
