After Hank Lebioda finished well to nab a place at 50/1 that makes it 7 weeks in a row of at least 1 place or win for the Chasing Pars Podcast. In what was a brilliant Scottish Open it was the highly talented Min Woo Lee who came out victorious beating Thomas Detry and Matt Fitzpatrick in a play off to win a Rolex Series event at the tender age of 22. Huge future ahead for the talented Aussie. In the John Deere Classic it was a 10 year win drought ended by Lucas Glover who won by a couple in the end. This week we are at Royal St George's for the 149th Open Championship where 2019 Champion Shane Lowry finally defends his Claret Jug 2 years later. Jon Rahm is the overwhelming favourite for the last major of the year. This week we were delighted to be joined by Man in the Stand anchorman Craig Johnson who joins us in sharing his views and picks for this week's Open. Enjoy!

Thank you to everyone who took the time to listen last week becoming out number 1 most played episode last week with over 120 listens. It was a good US Open with a cracking finish as pre tournament favourite Jon Rahm finally won his maiden major title at his favourite place Torrey Pines defeating Louis Oosthuizen by 1 shot to win and become new world number 1. It was simply fantastic debut major performance from the ever so amazing Italian sensation Guido Migliozzi who placed in T4th for us at massive odds of 225/1 to solidify his unbelievable recent performances. This week we are joined by Adam Watson @AdtheVillan on Twitter who has interacted with us for a while and was nice to get him onto the show to go through this weeks events of Travelers and BMW International respectively. 2 quality fields should be a good week!

Monday May 31, 2021

Monday May 31, 2021

In the 2nd part of this week's podcast Craig & Jamie briefly go over this week's Porsche European Open in Winsen just outside of Hamburg. Craig has an 80/1 shot he really fancies to go well. We are playing at Green Eagle Golf Courses on the North Course which is ranked in the top 10 for longest courses in Europe playing over 7,000 metres. Paul Casey won this at -14 in 2019 by 1 shot defeating Robert Macintyre, Bernd Ritthammer and Matthias Schwab. Casey starts as very short favourite followed by Abraham Ancer and Bernd Wiesberger. Should be a weird event playing only the 54 holes.

Ahead of this week's Austrian Golf Open we got the chance to chat to European Tour pro and 1x Challenge Tour winner Dale Whitnell on his very interesting rise to the European Tour. Dale speaks about playing in the 2009 Walker Cup for GB & Ire against USA and what it was like to represent GB & Ire at the time. He also turned pro that year in 2009 starting out on the Challenge Tour from 2010-2013 then dropping back into local tours until getting his chance back on the Challenge Tour in 2019. Dale speaks about what it felt like to beat Laurie Canter in a play off to win the 2019 KPMG Trophy in Belgium winning his maiden title in the Challenge Tour which set him up to where he is today challenging in European Tour events.
